Swan Hill Office Staff

Four hours from Melbourne and serviced by our two offices located in Swan Hill and Robinvale, the Mid Murray Harvest Region stretches from Boort in the South to Robinvale in the North, and Barham in the East to Sea Lake in the West. The Mid Murray Region is renowned for its variety of harvest commodities due to the rich, fertile soils, ready access to irrigation through the Murray River and Victorian Great Lakes, and temperate climate. The Swan Hill region is Australia’s largest stone fruit producer and is also scattered with vegetable, and grape growers. Further north towards Robinvale there are large almond, grape, citrus and olive growers.

There are a number of harvest opportunities throughout the region and with good planning an individual could stay on a long term basis working across the industry. Positions including fruit and vegetable picking, packing, machine operating, cellar hands, pruning, and forklift or truck driving are frequently available. Cool in the winter and extreme heat in the summer, workers need to be prepared to weather the elements.

In your spare time you can enjoy the great outdoors, trying your luck at catching an elusive Murray Cod on the Murray River or camping on its banks. If it’s water sports you’re into then the Victorian Great Lakes provide plenty of space for skiing, boating and swimming. Or if golf is your passion, why not play a round at one of Australia’s top 50 ranked courses, Murray Downs Golf and Country Club. The region has some excellent wineries where you can sample local cheeses and smallgoods whilst enjoying a red or white wine.

The Swan Hill and Robinvale offices are open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm to assist both workers and growers alike. MADEC Mid Murray Harvest Trail staff are happy to assist with information on accommodation, transportation, and work requirements.

Harvest Office Manager Matt Ridsdale travels to both offices to assist our clients and is supported by Renee Stringer in Robinvale and Jaime Wray in Swan Hill.  With funding available from the Australian Government’s AgMove Relocation Assistance Program to join the Harvest Trail, why not come and explore the opportunities in the Mid Murray Region?
