Connecting workers with jobs
Whether growing vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, nuts or flowers, Australian farms need workers all year round.
MADEC manages 12 of the 16 horticultural regions in the Australian Government funded Harvest Trail Services initiative, as well as the national call centre – the National Harvest Trail Information Service.
In a single year, our expert officers connect more than 15,000 job seekers with harvest jobs in specific crops, at no cost to workers or employers.
We understand the complexity of the national harvest and help people from all backgrounds find not only short term work but employment that changes lives.
Jobs range from harvest preparation to picking, pruning, packing and driving providing workers with an opportunity to earn while they build new skills, visit new places, and meet new people.
And we support employers to meet legal requirements, take advantage of Harvest Trail-related government schemes, and provide opportunity, education and training for workers.
Feedback
Harvest employers and workers are encouraged to provide feedback and complaints via the process outlined on MADEC’s website.
