John Papatheohari

Chair

Bachelor of Business, Chartered Accountant, MAICD. John has over twenty years of Non-Executive Director experience in community services, particularly in Disability Services, Education, and Healthcare sectors. His governance roles have included Board and Committee Chairperson positions, focusing on corporate governance, finance, audit, risk, and digital/IT oversight. He also has twelve years of experience as a Digital Executive and CIO in health services, following a twenty-six-year management consulting career with extensive international experience. Currently, John serves as a Non-Executive Director for several organizations and advises on digital/IT, cybersecurity, and GenAI. Member since 2025.

Peter Mangles

Deputy Chair

Dr Peter Mangles is a highly experienced executive and governance leader with an extensive international career spanning Australia, the UK, Ireland, Norway, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. He has served as Chair and Board Director across both for-profit and for-purpose sectors, including established public listed entities, bringing deep expertise in corporate governance, organisational transformation and stakeholder engagement. A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Dr Mangles holds qualifications across higher education and vocational education and training and is recognised as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute (UK), and a Certified Practising Manager with the Institute of Managers and Leaders (ANZ). Guided by a commitment to social justice leadership, he champions inclusive governance frameworks and ethical decision-making that balance commercial performance with community impact and equity.

Ian Ballantyne

Director

Ian, now retired, previously worked in project and executive management in agriculture and natural resource management fields in both the private and public sectors. Ian is actively involved in local community service and not for profit groups. Member since 1985.

Helen Piscioneri

Director

Helen holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies (Marketing) M.Sc International Marketing. She has extensive experience in marketing and communications, business development and events management across a variety of sectors including local government, tertiary education, recruitment and other not for profit service industries. Helen’s expertise and leadership qualities make her a valuable asset to the board. Member since 2024.

Emily Lewis

Director

BCom(Acct), CPA Emily is a practising accountant with a background in both public practice and private industry. Emily brings extensive experience from commercial financial roles across a range of sectors, including Indigenous services, agriculture, government bodies and not-for-profit organisations. Emily is deeply committed to the community, contributing through volunteer work and active involvement on various organisational committees. Emily’s practical financial expertise and strong community focus bring valuable insight and governance to the board. Board member since 2025.

Anthony Couroupis

Director

BEc., GDipAppCorGov, GAICD, FGIA With extensive experience in the strategic management of various organisations, Anthony has served in CEO, company secretary and director capacities. His expertise spans the community-commercial and government sectors. Anthony holds qualifications in economics and company secretarial practice. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Company Directors Course, a member of the AICD, and a fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. Member since 2025.

John Nguyen

Director

John Nguyen is a purpose-driven and customer-centric executive who is passionate about making a genuine impact. He does this by leveraging expertise in financial and risk management, assurance, governance, compliance and large program execution. John has over 25 years of professional services, corporate sector and not-for-profit experience. John’s professional services career has taken him from Melbourne, New York, London, Singapore, Jakarta and Canberra where he worked with banking, financial services and public sector clients to solve complex and challenging issues. He was a former partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and Ernst & Young and held senior roles at ANZ Bank and KPMG. John is also on the board of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. He was previously a member of the Audit Committee of the National Gallery of Australia and was on the boards of Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and Dental Health Services Victoria.

Linda Spurr

Director

Linda Spurr is an experienced board director and accomplished senior executive, having held director and leadership roles in NFP, government, defence and private sector organisations. Linda has worked as a Director in the Not For Profit space for more than a decade, supporting individuals and communities. She brings considerable expertise in training, skills development and leadership. She is a Telstra Business Women Awards Finalist, Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards winner and past CPA Australia Public Sector Accountant of the Year. Linda is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
