MADEC Australia’s training services are delivered to students in Victoria and South Australia with a key focus on building skills and supporting the resilience of those in need. The focus of our training services are to support those who are disengaged, disadvantaged or are second chance learners to develop their skills and confidence, whilst improving their education and employment outcomes through the delivery of industry and regional relevant training.

The delivery of our training services is via online learning, face to face training and/or placements with employers. We play a leadership role in the schools’ space through our school based programmes delivered in partnership with the South Australian and Victorian state governments. Our focus on students experiencing disadvantage is highlighted through our dedicated Learner Support development programme, which provides individualised support to students with barriers to training through a case management model.

The objectives of our Education and Training programs include:

  • We offer a range of education and training programs designed to meet the learning needs for those that are over compulsory school-leaving age – with a special focus on people who have had limited prior access to education. Addressing educational disadvantage is so important in as it improves the options people have available to them. This may include assistance with the goal of engagement in further learning, improvement of reading, writing and maths skills, obtaining a qualification to improve employment prospects or to build confidence through personal development and in assisting people to learn something new.
  • We provide individualised support to students with challenging life situations through a personal coaching and case management process
  • We aim to increase completions of vocational education and training courses by assisting students during their training and then to transition them to further study or employment
  • We support students who are not engaging in school or experiencing challenges to maintain school engagement to: make positive choices, develop self-reliance and build on skills that engage and support them for future learning and employment opportunities.

Thousands of people each year receive the support of MADEC Australia’s education and training programmes, which highlights the role that we play in addressing disadvantage through educational services that are focused on building confidence, resilience and skills of those in need.
