MADEC Australia Employment Services activities are delivered through the Workforce Australia programme in partnership with the Commonwealth Government. MADEC Australia’s Employment Services activities are focused on supporting those experiencing disadvantage in locations across NSW and Vic. Individuals that access the program receive support to reduce social, physical and other barriers that impact a person’s ability to attain and maintain employment, by identifying strengths and building skills that improve life outcomes.
Its objectives of the programme include:
- Identify barriers and upskill individuals to give them a better opportunity of sourcing employment, which provides financial security and a pathway out of poverty.
- Enhance individual self-confidence, self-esteem and social and economic participation.
- Provide access to social work services to address barriers by providing connection to other support services to improve well-being and alleviate distress.
- Boost the productive capacity of the workforce, addressing skills shortages to better meet the needs of employers.
- Build linkages with employers and enhance employer engagement with the goal of assisting each individual in obtaining long term employment.
- Delivery of training services, work experience, and Commonwealth supported programmes to develop individual’s skills, capability and reduce barriers that may impact their ability to obtain and maintain employment.
MADEC Australia’s contribution to those experiencing disadvantage is highlighted by the connection of nearly 50,000 individuals to employment in just the last decade. The impact of the programme in reducing disadvantage over a lengthy time period is reflected by the fact that hundreds of thousands of Australians have been touched by MADEC Australia’s Employment Services programmes over the past twenty years.
