The Goulburn Valley Harvest Trail Services office is located on Wyndham Street across from the beautiful Victoria Lake, one of many attractions in the Goulburn Valley. The Goulburn Valley is 2 hours north of Melbourne and only 45 minutes to great fishing spots along the Murray River.
Things to do
Throughout the town of Shepparton you will spot ‘Moooving Art’ which is an ever changing art exhibition of life sized 3D cows. Fibreglass bovines are scattered throughout Shepparton and surrounding towns which are full of colour and personality. This is the start of the artistic movement in the region. From a silo art trail starting in Tungamah through to street art in the town of Benalla the regional tourist drive draws many to the region. The artistic work reflects the history of the region’s horticulture and agriculture industry.
With so much to see just in the North East of Victoria, you cannot miss the town of Echuca, where the Campaspe meets the Murray. The sound of Paddle Steamers and old arcade games in the Port of Echuca set the scene in this well-established town. Harvest work is available from December onwards with many tomato hydroponic sheds in this region. With so much to do in your spare time you’ll be glad work is available for 3-4 months!
The Goulburn Valley Harvest Office also assists growers and job seekers in the Victorian Alpine region. Towns such as Beechworth, Myrtleford and Bright provide endless activities for harvest workers over the harvest periods, including hikes through Mt Buffalo National Park, cycling between towns, taste testing the produce in the region from wineries, honey producers, breweries and farm gate produce including chestnuts, walnuts and our favourite pink lady apples. Or after a hard day’s work many lovely streams provide the perfect relaxation spots.
Harvest work Available
The harvest season in the Goulburn Valley kicks off with a moderate to high volume of harvest workers in November for cherries, kiwi fruit and stone fruit. Moving into the tomato season from December through till March picking in fields and hydroponic sheds in the Echuca region of the Goulburn Valley.
From Australia Day apple and pear picking positions become available in the fruit bowl of Victoria. As the pome fruit season slows down, workers in the Alpine area move into the chestnut and walnut picking, which happens from March through to May. The region has relied on locals, travelling harvest workers and working holiday makers to fill their picking positions in the past. Australian Growers need your help!

Brooke, our Administration Officer, has recently jumped on board with fantastic administration knowledge and is eager to provide work to all those who enquire. These two friendly faces will assist in finding suitable work for yourself.
